Ben Boyd National Park - Light to Light.

Three day packwalk along the South Coast from Boyd Tower to Green Cape Lighthouse, camping overnight at Saltwater Creek and Bittangabee Bay. 31 km, ascent 794 m (Check Wildwalks site for further information).

Prickly Ridge Circuit-Olney State Forest 12.5kms ascent/descent 575m

Mostly on tracks and fire trails but some off track sections. Steep climb up Brokenback Ridge and then some scrambling over rock outcrops. Beautiful ridge with views, rock orchids and moss. Walk joins Lemon Tree Road where there are lovely under cliff areas and then make our way back via tracks and some roads.

Pack Walk

Budawangs Pack Walk

Some of the best walking in the Budawangs taking in The Castle, Nibeling Pass, Monolith Valley, Mt Owen, Seven Gods Pinnacle, and the Green Room. The walk involves a 6km arduous uphill packwalk into Cooyoyo Creek campsite, 2 days of day walks and 6km packwalk out on day 4. Map: CORANG 89273N (SOUTH COAST)

This walk will follow Graeme’s Light to Light Packwalk

Hornsby to Thornleigh. (Only If Greater Sydney area visiting permitted). GNW Distance approx 11km with an asc/descent of 200 m Part of the Great North Walk, it passes through a variety of landscapes, with a mix of creek walking, ridges and slopes. There are a number of small ups and downs to contend with. We will use the train to travel to and from this walk.

Youngville Car Camp

Sat 20 - G4 Mount Royal circuit 6km 5hrs. Mount Royal 1184m is located one hour drive north of Singleton. It is basically all on track, stunning views on a clear day, with some rock scrambling and a steep descent through open forest back to the cars. Meet 8am at Singleton Visitors centre located to the left as you enter the town.

 

(For those wanting to do the Mt Carrow circuit the next day we camp at Youngville campground. Walkers could also do the Pieries Peak one and a half hour return circuit after Mount Royal. The track starts from the southern end of Youngville campground.)

 

Sun 21 - G4 Mount Carrow 14km 7hours. This walk starts at 8am at the Mt Royal carpark. Walk along Youngs road then deviate to the right along a bush track to Mount Carrow, 978m with great views. Then down an old logging track to Carrow Brook and back to Youngville campground.

Chockstone Creek. We are going in search of a creek that Bob and Co clambered down in the early days of the WWs, & later returned to abseil. They called it "Chockstone Creek". I'm hoping we can find it. Big uphill to start, then down Chockstone Creek. Meet Morisset at 9am, or Freemans Drive west of M1 (Beck's Rd) at 9.15am. Goulburn River National Park Three day packwalk, camping Friday night at Spring Gully (fees apply).

Day 1 (Saturday) - Walking Spring Gully, Riverside, and then across the range to another section of the river.

Day 2 (Sunday) - Walk upstream to Thompsons Flat and Camp. We will then spend the rest of the day exploring upstream and checking out some interesting ruins and abandoned cave dwellings.

Day 3 (Monday) - Walk back to Spring Gully via Thompsons Track.

Nords Wharf to Browns Point. Walk around the lake to Browns Point. About 10km return. Meet at the Nords Wharf Boat Ramp at the end Branter Rd, Nords Wharf.

Bring a swimsuit, it could be good to cool down after walking.

Myuna Bay to Wangi and return. Approx 12 kms on tracks and some streets mostly beside the lake, hopefully with some nice breezes. Pleasant bush tracks, small amount of ascent and descent.

Redhead Loop. Distance 5-6 Km. Three small and easy ascents/descents. This will be an easy, mostly flat walk around the outskirts of Redhead. We will be using the Ken and Audrey Owens Walkway, The Fernleigh Track, fire trails and some street walking. On the way we will stop for morning tea at Liles Oval and there are a couple of view points to take in as well. Meet 9.00 am at Webb Park, Redhead. Bring morning tea.

Noraville and Norah Head Bush and beach walk. Explore a mixture of beaches and bush reserves in Norah Head and Noraville (including some old tracks that have been rediscovered during Covid). Opportunity for a swim after lunch.

Fernleigh Track/Dudley/Glenrock CircuitApprox 14km. Walk up Fernleigh Track for a kilometre, deviate to Burwood rd via Paterson Close, walk along the old rail corridor to Dudley, walk around Dudley swamp and down to Dudley Beach, over the hill to Glenrock the Yuelarbah Track and back to car park. Bring morning tea.

Meet 8.00am at Burwood Car Park (just down from the pedestrian traffic lights for the Fernleigh Track).

Murrays Beach to Pinny Beach. Walk along fire trails to the little known Pinny Beach Palm Forest. Here we go off track and explore/find our way through to Pinny Beach.

About 12 km return. Meet at the lower car park Murrays Beach.
