Mt Sugarloaf Area.  Summit Point - Mt Vincent

Distance: Approx 10 km Ascent/descent: 250m. An interesting walk in the Mr Sugarloaf area - first to Summit Point through Keepa Keepa Aboriginal Cultural Area then to Mt Vincent for great views and ancient grass trees. Mostly on tracks and fire trails.

Wallis Creek

Creek walk, off track but not hard in upper reaches of Wallis Creek. Very pretty walk down rock based creek between Glider Point Road and Barnier's Road to Phil's Grotto. Exit up Barnier's Road involves a 140m climb over 1k. Easy pace. Photographers welcome.

Dudley-Redhead-East Bennetts Green Circuit.

Distance: Approx 15km  Ascent/descent: about 400m. Starting and finishing at Dudley, the route includes Sth Dudley Bluff, some Awabakal, the WW2 Local Coastal Observation. HQ, some of the various wetlands of Crokers Creek, Fernleigh east and west side trails and Redhead/Awabakal lagoons. Short sections of off track/sand slogging.

Croudace Bay to Bangalay Reserve Distance: 16 kms Ascent/descent: 370 m.

From Croudace Bay walk up to the Windham Way Fire Trail to Violet Town Road and then on to Croudace Road, into Bangalay Reserve (where we can view aboriginal axe grinding grooves) for a circuit then back via the same route. Meet in Croudace bay reserve next to the kid’s play equipment.

Distance: approx 10km Ascent/descent: less 100m. An urban trail following City of Newcastle's Walking Tours pamphlets and maps  All on paved surfaces. MEET: 9am at Car Park at Nobby’s – at the far end (harbour end) beyond the 4hr zone.

Piles Creek Circuit - Brisbane Water National Park 

Distance: Approx. 9km An interesting and varied walk from Girrakool Picnic Area to Mooney Creek following the Piles Creek Valley and returning on the opposite side of the valley. Spring wildflowers should be appearing among the rocky outcrops. Map Gosford 9131-2s   Meet 9.30 at the Girrakool Picnic area.  Parking fees apply unless you have a NP membership or Pension Card to display on dash.

Jilliby Conservation Area - Sections 17 (part) and 18 of GNW

Distance: 13 km Ascent: 320m Descent: 550m.

This walk combines two attractive sections of the GNW. Highlights are Dead Horse Creek gully featuring stag horns, rock orchids and bird’s nest ferns scattered amongst moss covered rocks and fallen trees and the Bumble Hill dray track with outstanding under cliff areas and dense moist gullies.

Bouddi National Park

Bouddi Spur and Maitland Bay Tracks.

Distance: Approx. 10km Ascent/Descent: 280 metres (section of steep steps down and a steep climb back to carpark).

A gentle walk along the link track to Mt Bouddi Picnic Area, then Bouddi Spur, lookout then down to Maitland Bay for lunch and explore rock platform depending on tide. Return to vehicles by Maitland Bay Track. Also,If time permits, a possible easy return walk along Bullimah Spur. Maps: Street Directory, Broken Bay

Spion Kop - Distance: 12 to 14 km. A scenic walk in the Brisbane Water NP to a spectacular viewing point overlooking Woy Woy Bay and Brisbane Waters. Follows tracks and firetrails.  There is a creek crossing which may be slippery after rain.  Wildflowers aplenty.

Map: Gosford. Meet 9am at Bambara Road Kariong, about 2km down Woy Woy Road  from Central Coast Highway intersection - on the left before Staples Lookout.  If you come to Staples Lookout you have come too far.

Pack Walk

Dubbo Gully and Ten Mile Hollow Circuit

Packwalk 3 days, 2 nights, 33 kms, approx. 1500 metres ascent/descent. Map: Mangrove.

A scenic walk in an area that features many significant and historic colonial period sites.

Day 1- packwalk down to Dubbo Gully and past an old cemetery and the abandoned Fairview house, then along Simpsons track to ten Mile Hollow and campsite.

Day 2 – Day walk with day packs only to Clare Bridge and return via Wat Loop Trail.

Day 3 – packwalk along the Old Great North Road past Clare Bridge, down Donny’s track and back to the cars through Dubbo Gully.

Meet:  Mangrove Mountain (corner of Wisemans Ferry Road and Waratah Road) at 9 am.

GNW Hidden Valley to Archer's Campsite and Return via Ourimbah Creek, Forty Acres, Stringybark Point and Milligans Ridge. Distance: 16km Ascent/descent: 400m. All on track with one creek crossing (wet feet) and steep climbs which may be slippery in places.

Map: Ourimbah. Turn off the freeway at Ourimbah onto Pacific Hwy and first traffic lights turn right into Ourimbah Creek Rd. Follow this for 11.5klm to Hidden Valley (signposted) on left.

Distance: 8km Ascent/descent: 250m. All on track with a steep climb, slippery if wet, passing through moist rainforest. Map: Wyong. Turn off freeway at Ourimbah onto Pacific Hwy and first traffic lights turn right into Ourimbah Creek Rd. Follow this for 9.4klm to Palm Grove Nature Res (signposted on left).

Walk up the historic convict road, ridge walk with excellent views over Macdonald River then down 1828 Rd which is steep and rocky in places. Lovely views of Hawkesbury River. Road walk back to cars. Map Lower Portland/ St Albans. Meeting place TBA on booking.
