8 th GRADE 3 PATONGA TO PEARL BEACH Lovely views, tracks and trails. Visit Arboreteum then on to Cascades. Steep climb out of Patonga. Some scrambling to the Cascades.  Map: Broken Bay

15 th BIKE RIDE  56KM, 37KM OR 25KM G2  BELMONT TO NOBBYS AND RETURN Ride along the Fernleigh Track, cycleways and roads. Map: Newcastle Cycleways.

 

15 th GRADE 3 YELLOW BILLYS CAVE 6km - This bushrangers cave is located in the Broken Back Range behind Cessnock, great views along the way.  The cave is about 15 metres in depth with a resident bat colony. Bring torch.

5 th GRADEEXPLORE SWAN BAY Interesting walk around the shores of Swan Bay in the upper reaches of Port Stephens, with views east to the Heads of the harbour and west to Karuah and surrounding mountains. Wear sturdy boots and a walking pole may be helpful in muddy areas. Map: Karuah

 

5 th GRADE 5 SP EXPLORATORY WALK, off track

 

12 th GRADE 3 BOUDDI NATIONAL PARK Hardy's Bay Circuit via Tallow Beach, Box Head, Lobster Beach, Wagstaff and Pretty Beach. 12-15 kms mostly on well graded tracks. 290m elevation. Map: Broken Bay.

19 th GRADE 3 ALUM MOUNTAIN Alum Mountain overlooks the township of Bulahdelah. Great views, history, and a wide range of flora to be seen amid the picturesque boulders. Many walking tracks weave around the points of interest. app. 10-12kms. Map: Bulahdelah.

 

19 th GRADE 5 MOUNT SUGARLOAF UNDERCLIFF. Explore creek on south side of Mount Sugarloaf then find a way down to bottom of cliff to follow it to the north. Map: Wallsend.

 

26 th GRADE 3 BARRENJOEY LIGHTHOUSE Walk from Woy Woy Station to Ettalong Ferry Wharf and catch the Palm Beach Ferry.  Walk from Palm Beach to Barrenjoey Lighthouse for lunch, then return to Woy Woy and train back Map: Barrenjoey

 

26 th GRADE 4/5 BROKEN BACK RIDGE walk. some track and off track. Approx 12 km. Map Dooralong.

1st GRADE 3 JILLIBY STATE CONSERVATION AREA Circuit walk from Cherry Lane, Kulnura along a section of the Great North Walk. Walk through heath and scribbly gum forest and then along a narrow track next to the delightful Dead Horse Creek before joining a forest access road after crossing the creek. Lovely mossy rocks and rainforest. Return involves some walking beside a pleasant country road. Approx 11 kms, elevation gain 370 metres. Map: Kulnura.
