21st G3 RED CEDARS IN THE WATAGANS. Drive up to Rope Rd in the Watagans. Walk to end of road to see some very big grass trees (10+ spikes) and great view over the Congewai Valley. Then down Click Creek fire trail to see the grove of mature red cedars at the end of the valley. Lunch amongst the cedars. Return uphill along the fire trail visiting an interesting aboriginal art cave along the way. Maps: Morisset and Quorrobolong.

2nd G2/3 RIVER HERITAGE CIRCUIT Walk approx. 11km mainly on shared paths/cycleways from Olympic Park, Sydney near creeks and billabongs to the Parramatta River including some lookouts, wetlands and the Newington Armoury area. Can use ferry to cut short if weather dictates (but need Opal Card - as for the trains).

23rd G3 WALLSEND BRICKWORKS PARK TO BLACKBUTT RESERVE

Starting at Wallsend Brickworks Park this very pleasant walk follows cycle paths climbing through Jesmond Park and Bushland to the John Hunter Hospital then on to Blackbutt for a lovely circuit of this special urban reserve. The circuit will include the often overlooked but delightful Rainforest Walk. The return through the Jesmond Bushland is on more informal tracks. Approx distance: 12km Approx elevation gain: 350m.

6th G3 EXPLORING MOONEY MOONEY ABORIGINAL AREA and its carvings, an old sandstone quarry and one of the largest rock overhangs in the area. This is a little known part of Brisbane Water NP and rarely visited. Only a short walk but full of surprises. Mostly on firetrail with short off track to and from the cave. Approx 8klm with an option to do Girrakool Loop after lunch.

 

6th G5 SUGARLOAF UNDERCLIFF Access from east side of communication tower and head south along base of cliff. Map: Wallsend.

 

13th G3 POURMALONG CREEK, MORISSET HOSPITAL We will walk along Pourmalong Creek heading towards Morisset then return for lunch at Woods Point. Maybe a little bit of scrub bashing

5th TUESDAY BIKE RIDE JESMOND to MARMONG PT Total distance ~40 km, moderate grade.  (like Fernleigh Track.) Mostly on cycle paths with some on road back streets and some cycle lanes on main roads.  Also three short sections of firm, grassy track and 200 metres of dirt road with sticks and gravel. Return approx  3.00 pm.
