Distance: approx 10km Ascent/descent: less than 200m.

Walk to Oatley Park via Miles Dunphy Reserve.  Explore trails and boardwalks of the Oatley Park and surrounding bush areas. Swim at Jewfish Bay Swimming enclosure if desired. Afternoon Tea at Oatley Park. Mix of street walking, shared cycleway, paved and unpaved bush trails, boardwalks and wetlands.

Distance: Approx. 8km    

Walk a newish track established by volunteers in a locally protected woodland area. On formed track including the (slight) incline up to the rocky hilltop.   Interesting woodland trees, rock outcrops and views into the Jilliby valleys.  Shorter summer half-day walk to beat the heat.

Distance: 15km with one decent hill

Catch the train from Morisset at 9am get off at Cowan at 10.36am. Then walk down the Great North Walk to Jerusalem Bay, then up the hill. At the top of the hill take the track out to Taffy's rock.

Cremorne Point to Balmoral Beach

Approx :13km ascent/descent:  300m

This walk around the north harbour shore is partly within the Sydney Harbour NP, goes around Mosman Bay to Taronga Zoo and then visits the remains of an old naval base, to Clifton Gardens & finally Balmoral. 

Wonderful views over the harbour and back towards the city. Trip to start requires intercity train to Central, city train to Circular Quay & ferry to Cremorne Point.  Return from Balmoral is by bus to Wynyard, either city train or walk to Central, intercity back to Newcastle.

15th Mar Day 1 – Boat ride up Lake St Clair and walk to Pine Valley Hut.

16th Day 2 – walk to lake Elysia

17th Day 3 – Walk to Lake Helios

18th Day 4 – there are options for day trips from Lake Helios and at the end of the day trip continue on back to Lake Elysia

19th Day 5 – Lake Elysia to Narcissus Hut. This is a long day but I did it last time

20th Day 6 – Boat back down Lake St Clair and then a days rest somewhere

21st Rest Day (Possibilities are Mt Field campground or New Northfolk)

Watagan State Forest - Warrawalong Road to Basin Campsite
Distance: 13.5km Ascent: 430m Descent: approx. 750m This walk is predominantly follows the GNW from Basin Campsite to Warrawalong Road but in the reverse direction to avoid some long climbs. It passes through some outstanding sections of the Watagans. Involves some steep sections and possible off track walking as well as a 20km car shuffle.
